A vertiginous ballet by the Vertical Dance Hub Basel stage – as part of the Fête de la Danse Fribourg.

A literally suspended moment to be discovered from the comfort of deckchairs, Her ground is air is a poetic and musical outdoor piece. The hardness of a wall and the abyss of emptiness invite us to rethink notions of possibility and vulnerability. Accompanied by a gentle melody of cello and song, two souls dance through the struggle of living with insecurity and seek to put their feet back on the ground. What do we do when the ground is no longer beneath our feet? Where can we find the courage to move forward when the ground suddenly gives way?

It’s a weekend in May to celebrate and discover the Dance medium. Take a dance class you’ve never seen before, discover the work of choreographers and artists in cultural venues, be surprised by performances in the public space or try out your first dance step.Founded in Zurich in 2006 and supported by Reso (Réseau Danse Suisse), the Fête de la Danse has since become a unique event of national scope. 

The Fête de la Danse has been held in Fribourg since 2009, and in Bulle since 2022. Today, it’s one of the canton’s major events and one of its few dance festivals. Since 2012, the event has continued to grow, developing innovative projects, putting together a high-quality programme accessible to the whole population and supporting artists from Fribourg. bluefactory site hosts three performances of the vertical ballet “Her Ground is air” as well as introductory dance classes “Salons de Danse”.
